* Obtaining Ubuntu: ubuntu.com
* Installing - Do basic installation, just press enter
* Post-Install modifications/tweaks:
o First fix the wifi:
+ Install fw-cutter via synaptic
+ Get the latest bcm43xx firmware from http://bcm43xx.berlios.de/
+ sudo bcm43xx-fwcutter -w /lib/firmware ~/Desktop/wl_apsta.o
+ modprobe bcm43xx
o Setup Sound:

+ Download this file and install: http://c.chez.fred.free.fr/linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.22-14-generic_2.6.22-14.37.1_i386.deb
+ Add the following line in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base:
options snd-hda-intel model=acer

+ Put the folloing in the /boot/grub/menu.lst :

# default boot parameters, set pci=routeirq for sound to work (as per dmesg output)
kopt=pci=routeirq

o Setup Compiz:
+ Run sudo gedit /usr/bin/compiz
Find and comment string T="$T 8086:2982 8086:2992 8086:29a2 8086:2a02 8086:2a12" # intel 965 by adding # in front of the line
Goto 'System' > 'Preferences' > 'Appearance', Choose 'Visual Effects' and select 'Extra'
o NOTE: You may need to use synapic to unstall compiz.
