Pad linuxu po uspesnej instalacii NVidia ovladacov

Zacinam experimentovat s linuxom, a hned som sa ocitol pred problemom, s ktorym si neviem rady a kvoli ktoremu uz treti krat reinstalujem linux. Pouzivam distribuciu Mandriva 2006 free. Aj po dodrzani vsetkych krokov pri instalacii (konzola, init 3, rpmi kernel-source atd.) a po uspesnom prebehnuti instalacii nvidia driverov (ver. x86-1.0-8756) a naslednej modifikacii XF86configu, mi po naslednom reboote vobec nenabehne KDE. Ono, zda sa, ze LINUX v podstate bezi, ale do monitora nejde ziadny signal (vypne sa). Pouzivam grafiku AGP GF6600 Galaxy, prepojenie do monitora je realizovane cez DVI konektor. Budem vdacny a vopred dakujem za kazdu radu.

      no ja by som zbehol do konzoly, pozrel ci Xka vobec bezia a ak nie tak obzriet logy vo /var/log/ , konkretne log Xiek a specialne sa zameral na (EE) riadky

      Najprv by si mohol povedat co znamena "nenabehne KDE". Inac k veci, s najvecsiou pravdepodobnostou mas zle definovany rozsah frekvencii pre monitor.

        Tym \"nenabehne\" som myslel, ze linux bootuje a nacitava vsetky ovladace, do okamihu, ked sa uz ma spustit pracovna plocha KDE. Vtedy to shasne. Ak by to nahodou bola chyba sposobena zle definovanym rozsahom frekvencii, ako ich zmenim cez prikazovy riadok?

          skus doplnit vsetko potrebne do suboru /etc/X11/xorg.conf (ak mas xwindows z x.org).

            OK, skusim, ale este pred tym sa spytam, co konkretne zmenit. Mam tu totiz jeden navod povodne urceny pre mandrake 10.1, kde sa rozobera co premenovat a pod. Avsak vypis konfiguracneho suboru v prirucke sa nie celkom zhoduje s tym, u mna v pocitaci. Ako, premenovat "nv" na "nvidia" v sekcii device, to je jasne. Ale co s takym, ked sa pozaduje vyremovanie riadku "Load GLcore!", alebo "Load dri", ktore proste v mojom konfiguracnom subore nemam?               nabootuj do prikaz. radky (bez grafiky....pouzij treba mc, nebo v zachrannem modu ) a v /etc/X11/xorg.conf zmen v: Section "Monitor" HorizSync 31.5-67 (..podle tveho monitoru) VertRefresh 50-75 (..podle tveho monitoru) Section "Device" Driver "nv" (..na Driver "nvidia") ..dale radky zacinajici # se nevykonavaji..funguji jako komentar ..zbytek by mohl byt..a na zaver zkus treba slackware .. ma jednoduchsi konfiguraky, dobre okomentovane (ja nemel skoro zadne problemy oproti mandrake) a zacatecnik v tom taky urcite bude umet , jen davej pozor, cti pri instalaci a zaden problem..

      Skus stiahnut starsi ovladac. Mne to bezalo v pohode so starsim ovladacom. Az vcera vecer som si nainstaloval najnovsi ovladac od nvidie a zacaly problemy(nenabehlo X). Este som to neriesil. Takze skus siahnut tan starsi ovladac a daj vediet jak to dopadlo.

      nema nahodou ta grafika aj DVI aj D-SUB konektor? a po spusteni KDEciek, resp. X11 sa tieto prepnu na D-SUB konektor namiesto DVI konektora... preto to pohasne, ale system defakto bezi. Ked ti tie KDEcka nabehnu, tak stlac Ctrl+Alt+F1, dostanes sa do textovej konzole, kde by si sa mohol teoreticky prihlasit ako root, Xka zabit a pozriet logy. Uz som pocul, ze mal niekto tento typ problemu a bolo to v tom, ze graficky vystup bol z drivera smerovany na iny vystup.

        Dakujem vsetkym za rady. Zial driver sa mi nepodarilo rozbehat ani po odskusani navrhovanych rieseni. Problem sa neodstranil ani instalaciou starsieho ovladaca, ani presnym nastavenim obnovovacich frekvencii, zapojenim monitora na D-SUB konektor a nakoniec ani roznymi modifikaciami xorg.conf (vratane pridania riadku Option "ConnectedMonitor" "DFP"). Zatial som nechal povodne SVGA ovladace.

          taka malickost, procesor je IA32 alebo AMD64/EM64T? nepredpokladam ze by si mal IA64 (itanium) a ake ovladace si pouzil. obcas totizto uzivatelia nahodia plne 64 bit system bez spetnej kompatibility na 32bit a divia sa ze im nejdu 32bit binarky. dalej by si mohol povedat co sa nachadza v subore /var/log/X.*.log (najnovsi), najme riadky EE ako uz bolo povedane. v nom sa uchovava log z posledneho behu XWindows.

              zkus si stahnout z http://nvidia.php5.cz ten bzipovany navod z casopisu linux+ a srovnej si to s tim , jak jsi to instaloval, treba najdes chybu, nebo jsi neco zapomel, neudelal spravne

                inak ja pouzivam SuSE 10.0 Eval a mam presne tu istu grafiku NVidia GF 6600 a ja som mal ten skoro isty problem (ked malo nabehnut KDE tak cierna obrazovka) lenze mne ten driver v poho funguje ked si ho naistalujem mozno by si mal naistalovat balik nvtv asi pri instalacii toho driveru ked kompiluje kernel tak z tadial mohol tento plugin vymazat mal by si ho naistalovat a mozno je to v tom ze ti to tam aktulizovalo balik netpbm na verziu 10.26.12-5.4 tato verzia baliku je nekompatibilna s touto grafikou inak dodam ked ja nenaistalujem pri instalacii SuSE linuxu nvtv tak potom mam znova tu spominanu chybu cernu obrazovku inak sa mylis ze v tedy linux ide on zamrzne dalej uz nejde

                    Ano pozrel. Diky za radu, zial uz to neviem odskusat. Particiu s linuxom som vcera zformatoval a vzniknuty volny priestor som pripojil spat k jednotke C:\. Presla ma trpezlivost.

                      Tak to vyzera ze Mandriva totalne zo vsetkymi vy.....ala s mandrake 2006 free... Co citam, kazdy ma problem rozbehat KDE, a ak aj ide, tak zle...

                        Tento problem som nemal len v mandrive, ale aj v inych distribuciach. Dokonca aj v komercnej verzii mandrive 2006 Powerpack, ktora na distribucii obsahuje ovladace odladene mandriva komunitou. Postupom casu sa mi zda, ze problem je sposobeny skor s ovladacom a jeho "neochotou" spolupracavoat nVidiami 6xxx radu. Medzicasom vysla aj nova verzia ovladaca 1.0-8762, ktora je uz mozno vydarenejsia.

      Musel som sa pozriet do dokumentacie nVidie a nasiel som , co treba pridat do xorg.conf (pre ovladac v.8762): Subsection "Display" Depth 8 Modes "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" #tu je novinka Virtual 1280 1024 EndSubsection a podobne pre ostatne Depth 15, 16 a 24
