Ahojte mam ati 9600pro.Ma dva vystupy VGA a DVI.Monitor mam na DVI.Ked pustim PC nabehne obraz iba po prihlasenie(to uz nezobrazi).A konec.Prepnem na VGA a ono to ide?!Podla mna sa podla grafickej VGA a dvi spravaju ako dve odlisne karty.A mne ta dvi nejde.A neviem ako ju prinutit ist.Ked nemam nainstalovane Ovladace od ATI ide to ale nahodim a ten problem s monitorom :(

ctrl+alt+backspace len restartuje x server
moznosti je viacej:
nastartovat do single user
alebo stlacit ctrl+alt+F1
alebo si pripojit ten VGA/CRT monitor a spravit to v nom.
no ale myslim ze bude jednoduchsie pre teba pouzit redukciu na ten lcd monitor, vga to dvi.

one of my systems has an LCD connected to a Radeon 9600TX using the
DVI output connector, so yes, Linux is compatible with DVI output
in that sense.
sounds like you don't have the correct display driver selected
for your system. Either that, or your LCD display is getting
confused at the moment the display briefly blanks when it switches
from text mode to GUI mode. Does your LCD have two inputs?
Does it automagically select its input? Can you manually adjust the input?

1) Jaka je obnovovaci frekvence? Pokud je tam vice nez nejakych 70/75 Hz, tak to LCD nezvladne, to je normalni. A prepokladam ze tam takova frekvence kvuli CRT byla. Takze: zmenit parametry monitoru.
2) Nejak mi unikla informace o driveru, takze:
man nv
neboman nvidia u driveru od vyrobce precist README, je tam toho opravdu hodne!
3) Minimalne bych zapnul ze se jedna o LCD (Option "FlatPanel" "true" nebo podobne).
4) Tyto kartu mam a funguje naprosto bez problemu. Chyba bude opravdu v nastaveni.

Na nvidia karte mi pomohol parameter

v sekcii Device. Na vyber bola hodnota CRT a DFP (Digital Flat Panel). Pozri sa do dokumentacie x.org ci je podobny parameter pre driver radeon. /var/log/Xorg.0.log - prezradi co sa deje pri starte X servera.
V sekci "Monitor" nechte jen Identifier a ModelName. Monitor/LCD si sám řekne, jaké módy umí zobrazit... Já to tak mám, a normálně to funguje :-)
Jestli máš ty samé ovladače co já, mělo by to jít přes příkaz fglrxconfig .Ale mam jeden monitor a tak nemám testovaný...
U ovladače grafiky přidej

sice neviem co rozumies pod pojmom ine ovladace, ale pod opensource ovladacmi pre ati/radeon bezi 3d desktop bez problemov v ramci vykonu. samozrejme aj s berylom.
mozem potvrdit, ati sice dodava ovladace pre platformu PPC ale len pre masox, nie pre linux.
Cize:
Podla mna mas v XOrgu zle definovany BusID. Ked som sa pozrel na ten lspci tak tam bolo vidiet ze tam boli ako keby dve karty.
Na BusID: 2:0:0, cize na tom ktory mas aj ty definovany v Xorgu, je ten analogovy vystup. (VGA)
Na BusID: 2:0:1, je karta oznacena pod pojmom "secondary". Je to ale ta ista karta. A vhladom na to ze hovoris ze mas aj DVI aj VGA, tak kedze ta prva je VGA, tak ta druha musi byt DVI :)
Cize do Xorgu ci daj namiesto
BusID: 2:0:0->BusID: 2:0:1Tu je ten tvoj lspci
zavisi od tvojej distribucie, ja som ich nemusel instalovat pretoze radeon sa na PPC gentoo instaluje automaticky s XWin. ale asi budes musiet odinstalovat balast ktory si zavliekol s tymi binarnymi ovladacmi. a samozrejme to budes musiet aj nastavit.
