Wifi problem

Dobry den. Snad vam nevadi ze tu pisem znova, ale trapim sa uz od rana s wifi.
Snazim sa na nu napojit takto: 
localhost viktor # iwconfig wlan0 mode Managed
localhost viktor # iwconfig wlan0 key open MOJ_WEP_KEY
localhost viktor # iwconfig wlan0 essid MOJ_ESSID
localhost viktor # dhcpcd wlan0
err, wlan0: timed out
warn, wlan0: using IPV4LL address 169.254.126.152
err, wlan0: Failed to lookup hostname via DNS: Temporary failure in name resolution
localhost viktor # ifconfig wlan0 up
localhost viktor # iwlist wlan0 scanning
wlan0     No scan results
Pre info este dodam, ze ifconfig mi wlan0 nenajde, najde mi ju iba ifconfig -a , po /etc/init.d/net.wlan0 start sa to vykona, no ping hlasi unknown host.
Prosim o pomoc. A v poslednej rade, nepoznate nejaky dobry networkmanager pre xfce4 ktory by bol priamo ako applet, ako tomu je napr. v gnome ?

        Prepac nerozumiem, do hw som lama.. Access point, teda pristupovy bod, hmm, cisto teoreticky by to mohlo byt neico s routrom, ano wifi router bezi spravne
